Friday 27/09/2019 #40 Climate Change

Summer clouds  Over the last week or so, we've seen a huge surge of interest in climate change. With the focus of it being something that is happening now, that is being accelerated by mankind, and is serious enough to be seen as an emergency. This focus has been spurred by the efforts and words of Greta Thunburg and has captured the enthusiasm of the youth of the world. They don't want to be given hope and platitudes and vague 10 year plans, they want to see action starting now.

Unfortunately, this all goes against the short term business interests of the powerful, so I am afraid I must remain pessimistic about the world I will leave to my grandchildren. But what do I know?

Write about a group of these protestors fifty years from now. They are mid-teens today, in 2019, and they get together again in 2074. What is their reunion like?  1000 words, due noon-ish, Friday,  October 4th.

I'm going to be absent again - for now. I'm stuck on last week's, and this week, helping with grandson's college papers and granddaughter's high school essays, my brain has turned to dust! I'm not giving up though on either one, and they will be posted!

Late here too - in Toronto at my girlfriends until Wednesday night, and I just can't seem to get going on this. I need to pich a 'good enough' outline and trust myself to fill it in well.
